He doesn't need to tell you
that in his hometown ,he's
just another businessman and nothing special, because
we can tell you another story
in his secret weakness, he might fondly reminisce the past glories
and let you brag for him about the V-6
in the "bug"
back in ?72
His once nimble fingers are wont for packing grease and fibreglass resin, but
some people say that he's just another Bohunk gearhead
who got lucky - got the family business
and a sit down job
Ah, yes; that sit down job
admittedly, hard work earned it, though
his real friends will tell you that he didn't deserve it
and Danny didn't ask for pity, but
we felt sorry for him when he got that sit down job
not that we had ideas of anyone who deserved it more, it
was just not fair that
he gets to sit
in that special chair with
the padded arm rests,
anti-tip rollers and
those two big wheels...

Kurt Vonnegut said
"write your best six line poem
then throw it away"
Ah, a humility test!
Perhaps I'll do just that
someday...

Come reminisce of days gone by
of hugggggssss we shared
and tears we cried
Of love that bloomed
and friendships made
Of roses we grew
in our arcade
Close your eyes
think back with me
upon this year '98 AD
Fly's auburn tresses
and round-rimmed eyes
showered our room
in splendent sunrise
Moon and Paula
in full sight
walk down a path
to a wedding night
We watched as Heather
did make good
upon her quest
for womanhood
Sunny Grace
did teach us all
that youth is pure
as new snowfall
Scooby doo
with bold style
brought to lips
many a smile
Banks in Maine
Misspat at his side
taught us about
lobster and tides
Catt and Slam
in frigid air
tonight hold hands
in Times Square
Petal waved
from New Z
aye, she's the one
who hugged you and me
Falcon soared
from room to room
All recognized
his nom de plume
Soul changed her name
but never her style
she did brighten our room
with her beautiful smile
Real Bad with brazen words
would shock
dependably
as Blue Chip Stock..
Katt
with elegant charm and grace
adorned our room
like satin and lace
Jenny said 'lo to all
and coined a word
you "fookin' " fool
I wish to add
quite sincerely
her friendship I treasure
oh so dearly
Gigi for sure
no one can forget
her absense was always
met with regret
Our lady and Gypsy
with boisterous laugh
sent shock waves
on the seismograph
So many more
I could recite
Dove and Lib, Primrose and Vike
But to go on
you must agree
would encroach upon
your company
In final verse
Watch wishes you
a Happy New Year
all the days through
